Aseprite is a pixel graphics tool that allows you to create 2D animations for video games. Using this tool you can create graphics, images in RGBA or indexed color modes, as well as create a sequence of PNG files and even GIF animations. Aseprite is provided by the Steam platform and works with operating systems such as Windows, Mac and Linux, and comes in a DRM-free version for Windows, Mac and Linux. A free Steam account is required for its installation. The interface of this software is characterized by a small aesthetic, which at first glance may reject, but after a short while it is easy to get used to and easily discern the key elements of this program. The appearance of the program was created in accordance with the pixel art technology, which may be associated mainly with old operating systems, already having a graphical user interface. The program, despite its classic look, contains a lot of powerful features, tools and modes, as befits a modern graphics processing program, which is very popular among its users. A noteworthy feature is the card mechanism, which allows users to work with multiple images at the same time. There are many options for convenient manipulation of the color palette and, above all, the size of our object. The main aspect of the application are the functions of layers, which allow us to create even more complex images, consisting of many objects independent at first glance, the whole allows us to create an original and coherent project. Aseprite is constantly improved, there are regular updates that affect the comfortable and uninterrupted work without major problems, it is in direct competition with such graphic giants as Adobe Photoshop, GrafX2 or GIMP. The program was entirely written in C++ programming language and officially released in 2014.
